Brief Introduction

A major initiative of the ANTENA network is the capacity building of Philippine partner HEIs through module development, national training workshops, and replication workshops. The national training workshops are meant to train trainers from the ten ANTENA PH partner HEIs on internationalization. The replication workshops are regional workshops intended to echo or cascade the learnings to other private and public HEIs in the various regions of the country.

Module 1
Globalization vs. Internationalization/EFMD
Module 1

This module covers the concepts of internationalization and globalization, general paradigms in internationalization, reasons and means to internationalize, evolving role and responsibilities of governments, and nontraditional modes in international higher education. The module also expounds on the benefits and limitations of virtual mobility, the concept of internationalization at home, and assessing internationalization along five axes: students, faculty, research, governance and engagement.

International Strategic Planning/EFMD
Module 2

This module provides the basics of strategic planning in the context of an HEI’s goal to internationalize its higher education. It includes the following topics: tools and methodology in diagnosing current status and enriching diagnosis, the four steps of designing an internationalization strategic plan (ISP), and evaluating the quality of the ISP. (As an output of this national training, ISPs of the 10 partner universities were crafted.)

Fundraising and Project Management/UA
In-Net Team

This module includes information on what kind of activities donors fund in Higher Education, why donors fund and whether there is money to fund HE activities in developing countries, how fundraising work, which methodologies to apply in fundraising, what is easier: drafting a project or a paper, which language to use in international fundraising and how to selecting most interesting calls for Philippine universities.

ICTs for IROs/UA
Module 4

This module covers topics such as good practices and lessons learned using virtual platforms, diffusion and unassisted recording of classes and events, social media networks, information communication technology (ICT) for administrative staff.
